*Apologies for this months update being late. Thank you to all the supporters for their patience.

This month’s update is all about ScrapGuilds Gameplay! How it works, what to expect etc. We will also at the end cover some of the things that have happened this month but you guys have asked about gameplay so we wanted to make sure and cover what you asked for first.

Scrap Guilds

Scrap Guilds is an Arena-style space shooter where two teams(1v1, 2v2 or 4v4) try and collect the most scrap and deposit it into their containers as possible before time runs out.

Just incase you haven’t seen it yet(what are you waiting for?), the in-game trailer is a good place to start.

The Garage

The garage is where your strategy for the game first comes into play. You and your team plan out your ship builds here. Not only do you exchange out your parts here but you also arrange your abilities into the different play slots and decide which 2 magic types your ship will use. Will you use all basilisk parts? Will you go pathfinder abilities? Which magic tanks will you attach?

The Abilities

There are 6 ability classes. Each of the classes has a number of abilities specific to that class. The best scrappers will load out their ships with abilities that enhance their natural gamer skills.

The Magic

We’ve gone through how the magic mechanic works in previous blogs and posts however we haven’t told you exactly how we deal with it in-game. Magic is essentially a buff to the abilities and weaponry that you are using in game. We will go over some more of this later in the blog during the UI section. But as a general overview here is how the rock-paper-scissors-lizard-spock mechanic works with the different magicks in the universe.

You choose which two magic tanks you would like to carry onboard and you can quickly switch back and forth from the two tanks to get your desired output. You can also choose to go “magic-less” which has it’s advantages also as there is no counter to non-magic weaponry, however there are no buffs either.

The Arena

We’ve already done a tour of Arena 1 so we aren’t going to take up too much time to go over much of it. However we will talk about a few things that will be unique to this arena compared to others.

Things unique to Arena 1 “The Forbidden Heap”:

The Angry Compactor

This beautiful piece of machinery is said to be haunted by legions of angry ghosts that wander the Arena. The angriest of spirits reside in the Compactor and take out their murderous urges on the lives that get too close. Some of the best scrap and magic lie near as a temptation to put your life on the line and risk it for the best goods.

The Doomside Corral

The Compactor, while dangerous, only sits in the middle of the arena. However, the Corral releases Mini trash-compactor units called Doomsides. These Doomsides seek out scrap; They will steal scrap around the arena and also consider Scrappers as scrap. So keep an eye out for these around the arena.

Touring the UI

Now let’s take a look into the UI you will see from your viewpoint. The main strategy of the game comes from using these resources wisely, your load out knowledge and of course always being on guard. Let’s start with the basics:

Health and Shield

Health Bar and Shield

At the top of the health bar you can see a light blue line. The blue line represents your shield. Your shield slowly regenerates over time as long as you are not being hit by projectiles or attacked by creatures. The red line below represents your ships health. These can be upgraded in the garage as well the more you play the game. There are also ways to regenerate health like ‘Vampiric Regen’ and more.

Your Radar

Radar

In your radar there are red, yellow and green dots. These represent the different types of creatures, enemies and allies in the arena in that order. Red = Creatures, Yellow = Enemies and Green = Allies. There are also magic symbols that pop-up when magic populates on the map. Scrap doesn’t appear on the map as it is abundant in the arena.

Points & Fans

Points and Fans/Viewers

In the Scrap Guilds Universe scrapping is a sport and with every sport comes fans. Inside each game of Scrap Guilds there is a ‘Meta-game’ of sorts that hasn’t been seen in other games. As your popularity grows you will have more and more viewers to your “Livestream” the higher your payouts in the game. People just starting out will have lower payouts because they have less viewers. This will also help us keep bots from winning large payouts.

The points are just your teams score in the current match. Points are gained from collecting scrap, destroying enemies and gathering loot.

Ability Loadout Track & Weapons

Ability Loadout Track and Weapons

This section of the UI is one of the most important. The area to the right is where you can see the three different weapon types that each ship has. You can choose to shoot your Ballistics(limited ammo; lower damage output; faster rate of fire), your Rockets(limited ammo; higher damage output; slower rate of fire) or your Lasers(Unlimited ammo; lower damage output; slower rate of fire). The amount of ammunition that is left for each type can be seen at the top of the weaponry section. Keeping a close eye on your ammo is key but you can also switch between weapons with the click of a button.

The Abilities Track contains all of the abilities that you added while in the garage. Each ability can be set to a hotkey for max performance and each has a cooldown time associated to it. To the far right of the ability track you can see the ability that you have set to be your ‘Ultimate.’ Ultimate abilities are stronger than the rest and have a much higher cooldown time. To the far left you can see the Boost Ability that has been chosen in this setup. The boosts are special abilities that warp the space around you and only appear as you boost yourself away. These can include things like protective walls, magic drops that you can turn and explode just as people fly through and so much more.

Your Magic Tanks

And lastly if you notice there is a color associated to each of the abilities and weapons. That color is associated to the current magic tank you have activated. The active tank moves to the top and the color of each ability swaps to that color so you always know what you have activated. Each tank can run dry however and you can only collect that type of magic from the magic spots around the arena so make sure to learn the arena well.

Item Gathering x Cargo Hold

This section is pretty self-explanatory. As you gather scrap from around the arena you will see what each piece is and what it’s value is in points. You can only hold so much before having to dump so make sure to dump often and not get caught with too much in your cargo hold.

There are still plenty of things we can go over as far as how the game works and we will continue to write more about how it all works the closer we get to launch.

Arena 2

One thing we haven’t shown anyone yet is some previews of Arena 2. One thing that seperates this game from alot of web3 games out there is that it will continue to expand and grow with new Arenas, new formats and more.

The next Arena will take place in the Vale System at planet Embervale.

Concept Art for Embervale

Only 10% of the planet’s surface is habitable but that 10% contains some of the galaxy’s most beautiful sites. Its lush forests and greenery are scenes cut from the heavens themselves. The other 90% of the world is a volcanic wasteland. Noxious gases and ash fill the sky as rivers of molten magma flow across a smooth black marbled landscape.

Embervale Arena Concepts

We will of course be revealing the final Arena design after release but we need to take more looks inside the universe to see what all has been created and worked on up to this point.

Fundraising

In regards to fundraising, we mentioned that we were doing a raise centered around $ARXM and another centered around equity in the company. We are glad to say that we have interest from investors on both sides and we are currently going through due diligence with them from both our side and theirs. What does this mean? Essentially if we lock in the equity raise and continue with the token raise as well then we will be well beyond what we need to get these projects promoted and have a secure future for every game we produce.

So if all continues going this smoothly then we will be funded very shortly. As soon as final commitments are made and contracts are signed we will make an announcement that day, no need to wait on a blog.

Quick Updates

We hope to have more in depth updates for some of these projects soon and also some launch announcements but we still wanted to give a quick high level view of what is going on as we have been nose to the grindstone with not only these different dApps but also investors.

SwapWagon and NFT Staking are both coming along nicely and we should have more to show you soon on these 2 projects. We are still working on the main contracts here as we want them to be as secure as possible.

In regards to Circulation…

30% of all $ATK in circulation is now staked! Currently staked is a staggering 74 million $ATK.

Thank you so everyone who believes in this project so much!
